Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE DATE: MAY 11, 2022

Petnax.com, its subsidiaries, and its affiliates will hereafter be referred to in first-person plural: we, us, or our. We gather information to use in running our website and other aspects of the services we provide. The website, any backlinked sites, domains of any of these sites, and any services we provide will hereafter be referred to as the “site.” All services that we provide, whether outlined in this privacy policy or not, will be known hereafter as the “service,” and the combination of site and service will be known hereafter as “the platform.” This privacy policy covers all rights and choices each customer makes in relation to the platform, Petnax.com itself, and this policy.

THE DATA WE COLLECT
We group the data we collect into three distinct categories: things you tell us, things the platform creates to enable us to provide you the services you request, and the data gathered from and provided to third parties. The following three points do not include every category of collected information. They are merely examples.
1. The information you tell us includes the relevant contact details you provide when you create your account.
2. The information created by the system includes building you a series of contacts when you enter your contact details into contact forms on our platform.
3. To the extent permitted by law, the information we gather and provide to third parties includes your demographics, your history with those third parties, and even fraud information regarding your contact with those parties prior to signing up with us. As an example, some third parties provide other companies with background check information and fraud warnings as part of their dealings with those companies. On the other hand, those third parties might provide us extra security information so that we can continue to provide you with the same level of security to which you are accustomed.

THE INFORMATION YOU GIVE US
If you visit the site without signing up, then we don’t collect any personal information from you. We might collect information about your internet connection so that the software of the site can give you the best browsing experience, but we don’t take anything personal. Of course, contacting a breeder, answering a pet enquiry, or posting a listing require you to give us your information so that others might contact you regarding your listing or your interest in another pet.
Registration: We need your given name and surname, your email address, and your phone number when you sign up. We also make note of your password so that we can recognize you when you log in. Should you desire it, you can also provide us with a profile photo that we save on the site.
Posting an ad: Breeders must be real to work within the platform. Therefore, if you are a breeder, we collect information about you and your business, such as phone number, location, address, and other identifying information. To be able to list your breeder’s profile on our platform and list your litter for sale, you must also provide us with information about the breed in question.
Payment: For you to use our payment service, you must provide us with all pertinent billing information.
Authentication: We aim to provide a trustworthy environment, so we gather identifying information from you. It could be a photo of your government-issued identification or other information that would be known only to you.

THE INFORMATION OUR PLATFORM CREATES
Your personal preferences and usage: When you sign into the site, you can choose the characteristics of the site as it appears to you. We save those along with the ways that you interact with the site.
Information about your device: To make your experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible, we store information about which operating system you use, what the capabilities of your device’s hardware are, and other important information.
Access Logs: We maintain logs of IP addresses, countries of origin, and other lists. We don’t access log files to identify users, although the confluence of data in the log files and other applicable data might possibly result in the identification of users.

THE REASONS WE COLLECT AND STORE INFORMATION
As stated, we collect, store, and collate information about you and your access patterns so that we can develop the platform and continue to provide you with the best possible online experience. It is also our aim to create a safe and trusted environment for your pet breeding activities. Through this diligence, we can spot patterns of fraud and protect you from scammers. We never sell your data to third parties for marketing.

THIRD PARTIES AND COOKIES
We track information through cookies in the site and in both our advertisements and emails. We do so in the ways described in this privacy policy.
Cookies: Cookies track your usage of the site and your interactions with other connectors to the site. The information they track allows us to see what your habits are. That, in turn, allows us to tailor the site to your activities. Also, they store information to let you interact with the site more quickly, particularly when logging in. Cookies cannot actually identify you or your sensitive information. The information they store is about your device and software. You may, if you wish, disable cookies in your browser settings.
Ads and analytics: It would be prohibitively expensive for us to develop our own analytics software, so we use third-party software. The ads that we place help us defray some of the costs involved with maintaining the site and paying for the analytics software among other things. We use this analytics software to determine what’s working on the site and what isn’t so that we can continue to give our users what they want.
The analytics software does not transmit data to any third party. It doesn’t send your IP address anywhere either. The software, which is provided by Google, just gives us information on web traffic and site use.
To track our users’ behavior on the site, such as which links they click, which pages they visit, how long they remain on each page, etc., we use SmartLook. This program not only keeps track of that information, but it also allows for user feedback regarding the platform. SmartLook also uses cookies to track information, which it stores anonymously. The program creates an artificial “you” to store your browsing information, hardware specifications, and other useful data. This pseudonym is what our site accesses to customize your experience. Because the information is stored under a pseudonym, we don’t know “you’re you.” Therefore, we won’t sell your information to anyone nor will we attempt to correlate the information with other data in an attempt to match you to your pseudonym.

ITEMS REGARDING DISCLOSURE AND SHARING
1. Sharing Between Members:
So that we can make things go smoothly in your transactions, we allow access to your information in the following ways:
a) When buyers inquire about a listing, we provide access to the breeder’s contact information so that the buyer can get in touch with the breeder.
b) This also applies in reverse: Breeders receive buyers’ contact information.
2. Public Information:
You may publish the information on the platform that you want the general public to see.
a) Usually, this includes your first name, phone number, photo, and a description of both you and the pets you have listed for sale.
b) Profiles of either buyers or breeders may also link applicable search results from Google and other search engines.
3. Aggregated Data:
It is possible, too, that we provide access to aggregated data. This is a collection of data about multiple users that is combined so that no one user is identifiable. It is useful for marketing analysis and predicting trends and contains no information that can identify any single user.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Analyzing Your Communications:
We regularly monitor the communications of all buyers and breeders on the site to detect and prevent fraud, ensure that all such communications comply with all other applicable local, state, and federal laws, and research patterns and trends among our users. From that research, we develop better customer service standards and create other improvements to the platform. We examine communications for references to bugs or other technical problems with the platform. In all cases, we strive to use automated monitoring whenever possible. Because we practice due diligence, however, there might be times when we need to examine your communications manually, particularly when it comes to fraud investigation. As usual, we neither sell this information to third parties nor send you third-party information based on the content of your communications.
2. Partners:
When you peruse the platform, you will likely see links to other sites, applications, and possible advertisements regarding third parties. None of these is indicative of any affiliation or endorsement of any of these third parties on our part. Additionally, these third parties will have their own privacy policies that are separate from this one. It is incumbent upon you to examine those policies with the same diligence that you examine this one. We are not responsible for any actions these third parties take either. Remember, too, that our site might be backlinked on other sites even including those sites that are not affiliated with us in any way.
3. Data Retention and Deletion:
Where possible, we will delete your information should you decide to terminate your account. The same applies if we determine that we must delete your account. The only exceptions to this are situations where we are required by law to maintain the data, such as the record of transactions or contracts. Even if you retain your account, we will delete any information you request us to within the bounds of the applicable local, state, and federal law. Within those bounds of the law, we will delete your information when:
a) The data is no longer applicable to the reason it was created in the first place.
b) You remove consent, and there are no legal restrictions regarding the retention of the data.
c) You object to the situation regarding the data, and there are no legal restrictions regarding the retention of the data.
d) Something illegal outside of your knowledge has happened.

SECURITY MEASURES
User data is stored on both our system and on the system of our data processor. The systems use the data for processing, management, and security. The security systems ensure that only authorized people or entities have access to it and that the data’s integrity remains preserved.
The site will tell you that electronic messages are vulnerable on the internet and that nefarious third parties might attempt to use the content of those messages for illegal activity.
We strive to ensure data security through careful diligence. If, despite all reasonable precautions, someone breaches our security, then we are to be considered exempt from liability.

CHANGES
Because of the ever-changing business world and internet technology, we reserve the right to change any or all content of this policy. If we make such changes, we will notify you both through email and by posting a record of the changes on the site. If we are legally required to contact you through other means, then we shall do so. Any such changes to this policy will become effective as soon as they are publicly posted or as soon as a posted date occurs if the date of implementation is after the date of posting. In any such case, the posting will be absolutely clear about the effective date of the changes in the policy. In all cases, if you use the platform on or after the effective date of the changes in policy, then that constitutes your acceptance in whole of the new and modified privacy policy.
